I got a notification to bring my car for a Recall - see attached document of information. I made my booking and my car was brought in by myself at Aurinia Motors for the Recall Campaign on the 16th of January 2023 at 7h30- I was told the work will take a period of 2x days to be completed. Inspection was done, and the only finding was that my windscreen has 2x small holes and can be fixed for R480. Nothing else. Mrs Mariaan Groenewald called me, and said that I could collect my car on the 18th of January 2023, but it must be returned - because they are awaiting a part. I took my car back on the 23th of January 2023 because I was informed by Mrs Mariaan Groenewald that the part is there and they can now complete the "Recall" . That very same day at 15h45 I collected my car- and immediately notified them ( Marian and Shaun) via email and telephonically that my car is not right. On my way home I had to stop twice, because of the strange sounds that were coming from my vehicle. On the 24th of January 2023 I drove to work and took my children to school in a vehicle that was losing power and making so much noise. I again called Mrs Groenewald and she told me that someone will collect my car at work for me - A gentleman by the name of Enoch collected my car, and drove it back to Ford Aurinia Motors at 11:30 I did send an email to Mr. Shaun Potgieter, telling him about the inconvience and ask if he could assist me with a courtesy car in which he responded that it was short notice, and does not have a car available for me.I was notified that the problem with the noise was " Secure mounting nut" that was not done while doing the work on my car. The staff of Ford sent me with a car that was not fixed properly, putting my life and that of my children and fellow passengers at risk. On the 25th I collected my car - on my way home , Mrs. Groenewald called and ask if everything was in order, I told the car is still not driving right- and she suggested that I must bring my car back so that someone can drive it around and see what is wrong but this must only be done on Monday the 27th of January, I explained to her that my car is still losing power, and it smells like something is burning - the same as the previous complaint only difference is now the noise is that of a car that is backfiring. I did not bring my car in that condition - and I told them over and over. Yesterday 31/01/2023. I took my son to the doctor, my car could not drive onto the steep road, and dead completely. I switched it off, and then that strange noise was there again - I was with my child, and we were in the middle of the road. Today I was given a Quote by Mr.Shaun Potgieter for the amount of R3544.79 so that my car can be fixed ?? I did not leave my car in that condition- I have no means of transport to get to work or drop my children off at school. And from the beginning of the recall I was told that courtesy cars do not apply to people that drive "Old Model" cars as myself??? I'm a single mom and trusted that this Recall is something that must be done, my knowledge of cars and maintenance theirof is none to zero. Now after this recall I'm stuck with new problems and a bill of R3544.99 - I know they messed up my car and do not want to take responsibility for it.
