Faulty wheel nuts

On 24/3/2021 I had a puncture on my left front wheel of my 2014 Ford Kuga TDCI. When I stopped at my destination in Somerset west I realised that I could not drive any further and needed to change the wheel to prevent any damaged to the tyre. When I took the jack and wheel spanner out to my surprise the wheel spanner did not fit. I went into BWH and brought a cross over wheel spanner which also did not fit. I then called the AA out who could also not get the wheel nuts loose. Fortunately they were able to pump the try so I could dive to the nearest tyre fitment centre. They advised me that this was a common problem due to a chrome cover over the bolts. I checked the internet and it seem to be a manufactures fault worldwide as their are videos of people using a chisel and hammer to remove the chrome covers. For my own safety in the future I went to Kelford Ford in Somerset and was told by the parts consultant that they are aware of the problem and I should purchase the old Ford ranger bolts at a cost of R640.00 for 16 bolts as they do not have the chrome covers I phoned Ford Customet care who advised me that due to the age of my car there was nothing they can do besides load on their website. To all owners of Ford Rangers and Kuga I suggest you check your wheel nuts as if you have a puncture you may not be able to change your tyre which could result in disastrous results
