Disgustingly unacceptable treatment by Ford and Ford dealership
My wife drives a 5-year old Ranger DC XLT. Last week Wednesday she booked the vehicle in to Paul Maher Ford to update the GPS. During Wednesday we were first told that the vehicle would be ready 'in 15 minutes', and then later phoned to tell us there was a problem with the computer and the vehicle would need to stay overnight. Thursday passed and we were then phoned in the afternoon to say that they could not update the GPS as there was an issue with the link Ford sent. We went to pick up the vehicle on Friday morning and were told that Ford had sent a '*******ed' link. We were told that it would take about 3 to 4 weeks for Ford to send something workable and that they would phone us. When my wife drove home she found that the 'sync' system was not working at all, and also that the rear-view camera was not working. She took it back to the dealership and was told that 'she was not the only one with this problem from Ford', and that she would just have to wait. It was also noted that at some time in the work the workshop disconnected the battery - we were notified by the security system. She came home with the vehicle, and since then the vehicle will also not start, and needs to be jump-started. She has also lodged an issue directly with Ford, but no response. For a company that is supposed to be offered 'enhanced' customer experience (as per their own marketing at the new Ranger launch) this is pathetic customer service and completely unacceptable. According to her she thinks that part of this treatment is because she is a woman? Is this the way Ford approaches women? It is disgusting!!!
