Disappointed Ford owner
Hi,
My Ford Ecosport was broken into on Friday 08/09/2018 night at 18:00 at the Caltex in Welteverden Park.
I first thought it was a form of remote jamming but then discovered that my lock was forced open and my laptop and other personal belongings were ****** from my vehicle. After doing some research this seems to being a common problem with Ford.
I went to the Roodepoort Action Ford where I purchased my vehicle to get advice. I was informed that they have been experiencing the same problems with the following ranges of Ford vehicles: Ecosports, Fiesta and Rangers.
"Ford is aware of the problem and Ford South Africa has not given a solution to the problem as yet".
There was no real solution given to me from the dealership and it seems like Ford is willing to lose customers. I got a very nonchalant attitude towards my complaint at Roodepoort Action Ford.
My concern is that there have been similar complaints made since May 2017. A year later and there are still no solutions. If I had been aware of this I would never have purchased my Ford. ********* can literally break into your vehicle with a teas****/*****driver.
I have noticed that the new Fiesta's key hole is completely covered and the key can be inserted from the bottom of the handle. So the newer versions are sorted but what happens to the fool that bought his vehicle last year?
I would expect more urgency to my complaint made on the 11/06/2018 to Ford SA customer service, where I was told by Paulina that "I have escalated it to our technical team and you will get a response within 24/48 hours". (Ref No: ********** 00) I still have not received any feedback and I doubt I'll get a response.
So all Ford owners are basically "sitting ducks" waiting to become another number.
I am extremely disappointed that such a well renowned brand is giving customers such poor service and such poor quality in security.
