I would like to lay a complaint against Ford SA specifically the Hatfield branch in Pretoria. I bought a brand new Ford Kuga 1.5 2016 model in September 2016 and five days after taking delivery of the car, it couldn’t start only to be told that it had a battery issue. This past Saturday the 25th of February 2017 the car just went into a sudden stop without any warning and when I tried to restart the car again It showed a message that said service now. I obviously couldn’t proceed any further with my trip especially after all the recent burning incidences of most of the Ford Kugas in the country. We had to get out of the car and call for help. I called Ford Road Assistance and they came to collect the car and because of our location, they could only take it to the nearest Ford which was Ford Hoffeldt Auto in Bronkhorstspuit. I followed up with them on Monday morning and they said to me that they had didn’t know what was wrong with the car and two days later they then said to me it is a clutch related issue. I had to follow up with them not the other way around and I really felt like for a new client like myself, their service was not impressive at all especially because they did not offer me a courtesy car whilst they were still trying to identify the problem. I have also attached emails communication between myself and Ford for your reference. As it stands today, I am being accused by Ford to be abusing the car which I find to be very offensive and disturbing since this is not my firs car and I have not had any issues with my previous car which I have driven for a good three years. It was a different brand. I do not understand why they came to that conclusion since this car was problematic from the get go.

I called Ford SA today on 012 ********** , first the Lady told me that if my car mileage is less than 20000 km they will pay, but after speaking to the dealer they said they won’t pay because it’s our fault that the clutch had burned. This is not our first car and we just need FORD SA to take responsibility of this issue and come up with alternative plan as to how we can manage this situation. As it stands I am without a car and at the same time I do not have resources to pay for the quoted R23 000 to repair the car as it is fairly still new for us to be fixing it already from our pocket. The car is still under warranty.

Your assistance is highly appreciated.

Thanks
