Clutch burned

On 8/2/2018 at around 21:00 while fetching my child at school and upon returning home, while standing still our car suddenly started smoking from under neath the car. The bad smell was everywhere and smoke coming out like something burning.

We stopped next to the road and checked what the cause could be. We couldn’t found anything and again we checked at home. My husband indicated that it could only be the clutch due to the smell. This morning I took the Eco Sport in to Ford N1 City to checked. They confirmed that it was the clutch but could not say what the problem with the clutch is. They have to strip first to check. They contacted me later in the day and said it cost R10+k to fix. My car is not even On 40k and less than 2 years old.

Is there anyone with a similar problem? I read on my broadband site of people having similar problems but nothing is sofar being done to rectify the problem. Ford rather said its due to driving style. ???????!
