I bought a brand new Focus in 2016 at Ford Germiston with Quinton. After two weeks of having the card, it started to smell fire and smoke was coming out where the radio is. I contacted the AA road assistance and the vehicles was towed to Ford Midrand where it was kept for four days. I was then contacted and advised the vehicle is safe to use and there was nothing wrong with it. Few weeks later it stated popping a service engine light and the car was returned to them for assessment. They ensured me again that the car was safe. Throughout the two years the car has been taken to Rivonia branch and Woodmead for the same engine light and fire smell. All dealerships confirmed the car was safe to drive. 29 July 2018 I received a recall email from card advising about the clutch issued on the vehicle. I booked the car at Woodmead and they confirmed it was fine. A month later while driving the car lost power in the road was towed to the Newcastle dealership. The car was diagnosed with a gearbox problem and two days later was contacted and advised it is a clutch plate and had to pay 18k to have it fixed. I logged a complaint with For customer care and the case was handled by Chantel Du Plessis( who had a very dab attitude and called me a lie until I could provide proof) who advised the car never had a service engine light and they claimed it was never reported as those records were not on the system reason being Ford Midrand changed the system and that information was lost. She even closed the case without giving me an opportunity to submit the towing company receipt and without my knowledge) I provided them with the receipt I received when the towing company took the car to Midrand. I have since received no assistance from them but attitude and LIES. Ford never recorder All the times I reported the incident and they are now refusing to buy the car back. Advise to the public : STAY AWAY FROM THEIR BURNING CARS....It is not worth it, rather have your life and get another brand than losing your life in those burning coffins.
