Appeal to Ford SA for assistance as a Warranty Claim

I recently (8th March 2026) wrote a motivation and appeal to Ford SA to assist me to cover the cost of repairs to my 2015 Ford Fiesta as a warranty claim even though the warranty “window” of 10 years had passed. My appeal was based on the fact that although the 10 years had passed my vehicle had only done done 155,000 km’s which was well within the warranty “window” of 250,000 km’s. As I had not received any response I followed up again on 15th March 2026, again on the 18th March, again on the 18th March and again on 23rd March. Today at 10.30 am I decided to telephone Ford SA (the Customer Care Centre) to enquire why they had NOT responded to any of my emails. I spoke to a gentlemen by the name of Ndamu Maungani and after I had explained the reason for my call he told me that Ford would not consider this claim as it was outside of the 10 year warranty period. He admitted that he had not personally seen the letter of appeal but assured me that Ford will not - under any circumstances consider a warranty claim outside of the 10 year period. My issue is that it would seem to me that NOBODY- particularly somebody senior who could consider my motivation and appeal, has even seen my email and considered the merits of granting my request. Just some details pertaining - 1. Apparently the “teeth” of the timing belt broke off and damaged the entire engine. 2. The quotation for repairs from Ford Mosselbay is R154,729.26 which I think is probably more than the current value of the vehicle. 3. Last year (also about March) my gearbox was problematic and was replaced by Ford under a warranty claim and I was NOT informed that the possibility existed that the timing belt needed replacing. 4. I am a pensioner of 80 years old and have - for most of my life, owned at least 9 other Ford vehicles and this vehicle was meant to be the one to last me through to the end of my life. 5. I certainly CANNOT afford at this stage to pay for these repairs to my vehicle so my appeal to Ford SA was a “last resort”. Please can you assist by communicating with someone in a senior position at Ford SA who IS able (and please God) willing to authorise my appeal to them to cover the cost of repair. I have since heard from various people that this “issue” with timing belts in this engine has been a huge problem and is one of (and possibly the main) reason for Ford discontinuing production of this vehicle a few years ago.
