Acting in bad faith

I owned my Ranger XLT since 2013.

When I had to take the car for its 30 000km service, I struggled to get an appointment which meant I could only service the car at 33 000km. I was then informed by Fury Midrand that there will be a co-payment over the next 2 service cycles if there was a warrantee claim. Accepted that.

On 51 000km my car broke a leaf spring. I took it in and was advised that my warrantee was voided due to late servicing. Then I was advised that the car was apparently servicd a month late on 15 000km. News to me.

This contradicted the advice the dealer gave me at 30 000km that there will be a warrantee co-payment. But worst of all, the leaf springs are not a maintenance item, it could not possible break due to a car coming in 3000km late. Clearly an acto of bad faith from Ford. I have made every attempt to service the car on time. If a claim was disallowed due to say a turbo failing due to poor maintenacne, understandable, but denying a claim for a broken leaf spring is clear dishonesty and only aimed at avoiding liability.

Last Ford I will ever buy,
