2 faulty vehicles and ford could not care
Its now been 3yars since i purchased my ford Ecosport. On the purchase of my vehicle i started noticing electrical glitches the very same week as i purchased it, mind you this vehicle was brand new.
The vehicle spent just under a year at Ford, the entire time i was being told that they can not reproduce the fault so it does not exist. They even went as far as insinuating that i was a ****.
After about 9 months of my vehicle remaining in the workshop and ford adding over 1000KM mileage to "test" the vehicle i finally gave up and just took it back.
Not even a week later the vehicle switches off mid trip to Johannesburg. This time i video called the dealer, showed it to him and did everything he asked me to ensure he could never call me a **** again. So after 5 months of denying the issue exists Ford SA finally had to admit it did.
It then took them another 3 months to find me a replacement vehicle because they, "couldnt find a vehicle with as low mileage" as my vehicle did and this was now somehow my problem.
I still waited, mind you for almost a year now i was paying for a mid range Ecosport but driving a bottom of the range figo.
Well eventually i just shut my mouth and took the used replacement vehicle that was given to me. I was told it was a demo model (this turned out to be a lie. i found the previous owners phone number in the service book and i called her).
i was also told the vehicle was only 3 months old, how true this is, i do not know. Anyways after using the vehicle for a few months (+/-4 months), i sent it in for a service. The very next day after the service the vehicle began heating up, and my fuel consumption increased by 100 %, i had provided video and pictures as proof of this.
This replacement vehicle now once again sits at the ford dealership. I have been told that they can not identify the fault and Farad Kader and P Miya of Ford South Africa dont bother replying to emails.
Buying a vehicle is a HUGE decision and trusting a company like Ford SA where emails are ignored and they have not repaired their faulty switchboard in about a year is just not the way.
I would literally suggest any other brand over ford.
