Engine damage after an engine wash

Car was booked for a minor service. Paid the bill and got my car. The moment i turned the ignition key. Engine light came on. Started and engine misfires. Got out and gave my car back and said there is a problem. I was told the engine is maybe still a bit wet from the wash.

Why clean an engine with litres of water. Is supposed to be wiped down. Not using a pressure washer.

Day 1 started to exchange and install coils, plug wires new plugs. Same problem. Day 2 exchanged fuel injectors still same problem. Day 3 fuel pump was ordered. Day 4 pump installed and head was removed for measurements for head office. Week 2 a courtesy car was given to me. Only to find out a day later the license disc is 7months behind. Still waiting for car to be fixed.
