On the 19th of December my car went in to Ford Bruma to run a full diagnostic test, the technician told me that the seals were worn and there was oil leaking onto the engine. The quote came back at R8300 and I felt that it was high but I have to see to my car. The work was done and they also replace the cooling system. I collected the car on the 20th, the first sign that the car was not right is that I had trouble getting it started. Then on the way home it broke down , we could not get it started! The technician came out and said, the car is right he DROVE it to Eastrand Mall but he suspects its the spark plugs, he took them out and said yes there was oil on the spark plugs; he replaced them wil some old ones he had with him and told me to come to Ford the following day. I took the car through and they checked it and now it was the head gasket that had blown, and I need to come back next year and it would cost a further R14 - 16 000, but I could drive the car in the mean time! I left and when I got home the car died and would not start again, I contacted Ford, Nelius Botha - Service Manager, he arranged for a tow truck to tow it to Ford and said he would update me. He did not, I had to phone and he said that they were checking the coils, the following day I had still not heard anything and I called Nelius, he said that the he should know by 11 am what is going on and he would call me by 11:30 at 13:00 I eventually called back and was told that Nelius left at 11:00 to go on holiday!! The driver fetched me and I couldn't get the car started, another technician came and said he would flood the engine and the car would start but I can't stop because I wouldnt get it started again! I got home but the car is standing, my holiday was ruined and I have to find alternate transport for work, I feel totally ********** as my car was working until Ford worked on it and R8 300 later the car comes back with the head gasket is blown!!!!
