We dont accept South African cents

I went to the Food *****s market on Sunday, and this time I happened to pay cash. When I got to the till and the teller scanned my food she informed me of the total R128.18, so I gave her R128 and then 3 5c coins. The teller refused to take the cents saying that its policy that they no longer accept 5c coins. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous. I said that I only have R1 coin. So the teller said I will give you 90c. <br> One thing I must admit is if she was a little more corteous and explain it a bit more, no matter how irate the customer then maybe it would have gone down better. I just dont see the point that South African money no matter how small it is that it wont get accepted. Do you know how many times you go to a shop and get 5c change. <br> Im just really irate that I was spoken to the way I was and that my 5c was not taken but yet I can get 90c in change. Really not happy. Dont t hink I will visit Food *****s for a while. If ever.
