Selling rotten food

I bought the strawberries that were on special on Thursday and Saturday when I wanted to use them I discovered that three packets were rotten because I don't work on weekends and I bought them in braamfontein I decided that I will return them on Monday .I went to the store and showed the cashier she called the manager and he refused to take them telling me that I should have returned them on Friday and the reason they were placed on special they were closer to the time of getting spoiled so I responded by saying you should write that we should use them the same day as I don't buy food to finish in one day instead he told me that I bought a lot since I bought six which it was not all for me so now my question is our health as customer which means your stores are selling us rotten food knowing very well that it won't be taken back and it needs to go straight to the bin meanwhile you have a rude and ******** plus arrogant manager which I not the only complaining about this even my colleague has the same problem I even got pictures to proof this
