Rotten mince mixed with fresh and sold to customers

I bought lean beef mince from the meat counter which was nice and pink and fresh looking. When I got home and took it out of the packaging, I noticed a bad smell and when I looked closer I noticed bits of grey and rotting mince in between the fresh mince.

I went back to the meat counter straight away and asked the butcher for some more and it was clear that there were grey bits in between. So the old mince was deliberately being mixed with the fresh mince and sold to customers. I understand that if mince stands and the blood settles then it will discolour the mince but this was not the case as the mince right at the bottom was pink and fresh looking took it back to the meat counter and I took the telephone number of a witness who saw this. The head butcher insisted that there was nothing wrong with the meat but when I left the counter he took away the mince in the display. When I asked what he was going to do with it, he said he would throw it away or use it for pet mince which proves that it was NOT okay.

I called customer service to report this and asked for feedback after an investigation. I also reported it to the manager who said he would look into the matter but never called me back. I left messages twice again for the manager to call me but he never did.

Food*****s Market lacks integrity. The rotten meat could have made us ill but they would rather make the few extra bucks. The head office customer service also know nothing about customer service and didn't even care enough to call me back.
