FOOD *****S MARKET-DO NOT FALL FOR THGEIR LOST LEADERS

Today I received a flyer inside my local free paper. In it FLM advertised a special on cooking oil at R50 for 2Liters. I immediately went to the branch at Hillfox and found many types on sale at R79 upwards. In front of these was a beautifully designed notice on what appeared to be a blackboard but was not written in chalk but obviously pre-made in quantities stating that the product was sold out. I am almost certain that they had put on sale a very small number at this price to lure customers to their stores. This is known as a lost leader and is ******* in many countries. It may be legal in South Africa but shows how desperate they are to get customers into the shops.
