Food *****s Market Nicolway

Was at Nicolway at the food *****s market with a colleague to get a late lunch meal since we work in the mall. From nowhere, a rat was spotted under our table and we immediately lost our appetite and little did we know when we cancelled our order that we would be threatened and bul**** just because the food was already in the process of getting ready. An employee by the name of Cynthia stated that they could void our order but then we would never be permitted to order there again and I’m wondered if staff has the right to chase regular clients away. She continued to threaten us saying she would nyisa us(Zulu meaning she would beat us up) after hours when we knock off. I then spoke to my better half who said I should put this on social media and she was not faced by it because she continued. She said we were acting like we don’t have rats at our homes and that we work at Vodacom so we’re probably working as contractors busy complaining about R40 meals. She then continued stating that it was month end that’s why we were acting like that, whereas we eat there everyday. We asked for the manager and he addressed us and assured us our safety from the employee that threatened us and asked us to see him once we were ready so we could have a conversation. Cynthia was rude, loud, disrespectful and belittering. I am going to seek legal counsel on this matter and I’m going to open a police case as I fear for my safety. She threatened our safety and as much as I don’t want to make this a racial issue, I strongly believe that she would have never addressed a white client like that. I am appalled and I don’t believe what I just experienced.
