Food *****s Market. False Advertising. Gauteng Food *****s Market advertised R13 specials for Friday 13th Nov. 2020. Thrift pack bananas were advertised : R13 for 1 kg. (in newspapers on 12th Nov., and big sale posters outside stores on Fri. 13th) Disappointingly, the banana packs sold were 700g., NOT 1kg. as advertised, for R13!! That weeks weekly promo. included 700g bananas at 2 for R25., i.e R12.50 per pack, therefore the advertised weight of 1kg. was not an error! Is this not dishonesty / "daylight *******"? (no notice was placed in stores indicating that the banana packs were 700g instead of 1kg.) Regrettably, no explanation has been forthcoming from FLM regarding the discrepancy in weight of bananas sold and advertised.
