Food *****s does not care

Food *****’s did not sign their email reply to my original complaint that they are discriminating against the poor and elderly. They do not have the courage to take personal responsibility for their obfuscating, off the point reply. Rather than honestly discuss my complaint, they gave me irrelevant details of Section 13 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

They gave me no reason to change my opinion: FL has decided to ignore old and poor people in its pursuit of profits at a time of intense financial hardship. Also what they told me about the application of the CPA law is not the full truth. A few months ago, FL allowed customers the reduced price if they bought only one item of a special (eg 3 bags of apples for R 25 was the special but one could still get one bag for R 8.33). One of the other FLs I go to is still doing this. Even if their argument has some truth, I'm sure the law does not insist that a single item not on special must cost over 50% more that an item in the bundle. In the past the difference was about R 2 to R 3.

Months ago when this new "deal" started, I complained to one of the Managers at Norwood Mall FL. She was very sympathetic and told me she'd had lots of complaints and would present our case to the people in FL who make the decisions.

I'm disgusted, that in this time of huge financial suffering, joblessness and all it entails, FL is choosing to make their profits at the expense of those least able to afford it and least able to stand up for themselves.
