Disappointing Decline in Quality at Food *****’s Cornubia

I’ve been a loyal shopper at Food *****’s Cornubia since opening and prior to this the La Lucia mall store, mainly because of the fresh produce the store was once known for. Unfortunately, the quality of the fruit and vegetables has been consistently declining, and at this point, it has become unacceptable. On numerous occasions, I’ve bought produce that was either already “funny” when I got home or went off within a day. This past weekend was the final straw for me. On Sunday, I purchased a slice of watermelon and two packs of methi herbs. By the time I got home yesterday, the entire watermelon slice had gone off, and the methi had already smelled strange from the moment I opened it to cook on Sunday. This isn’t the first time either. I’ve previously bought g****s that became moldy within three days—or were already on the verge of spoiling in the punnet. The same goes for strawberries and even potatoes. This kind of inconsistency and lack of proper quality control raises serious concerns, especially in terms of health and hygiene. With the cost of living being as high as it is, I cannot afford to continue losing money on produce that doesn’t last or is already spoiled at purchase. Sadly, I will no longer be going out of my way to shop at this store, particularly not for fresh fruit and vegetables. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because the decline in standards is disappointing for a store that once set the bar for fresh produce.
