Fone Yam – Dishonest, Unresponsive, and Completely Unprofessional!

My experience with Fone Yam has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. After purchasing a Samsung phone through one of their retail partners, I attempted to return it within the 7-day period as allowed by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Instead of assisting, Fone Yam has spent weeks dodging responsibility and avoiding communication.

The so-called escalation department, led by Belinda, is a complete disaster. Belinda personally advised me to return the phone to the store to finalise the issue, yet her own company’s call centre refused to put anyone through to her or her team, claiming “no calls are allowed to escalation.” For weeks, I was ignored, misled, and left without a working device or refund. Only after I lodged formal complaints with registered bodies (WASPA, ICASA, the Credit Ombud, and the NCC) did Belinda and her department suddenly start calling me multiple times in one day clearly trying to do damage control, not resolve the problem.

Fone Yam has shown zero accountability, no professionalism, and no respect for consumers’ rights. Their internal processes are contradictory and designed to frustrate rather than assist.

I am still without my refund and my phone remains blocked and unusable. This company needs to be investigated for unfair practices and misleading conduct.
