When air-hostess becomes ******.
I was on flight FA171 the 13h55 from Durban to Cape Town on the 30 March 2019. There was a family in the row in front of me. I was in seat 8D. The little girl who looked like she was about 3 years old was not well. She was crying because she wanted to sit on her mum’s lap. The mum was asked to buckle the child up in the seat next to her. The mum was not offered an extended belt so that the child could sit on the mum’s lap. The child was hysterical so the mum unbuckled the child and brought her to herself for comfort. The “in-charge” hostess was furious. She stormed from her seat in front. She grabbed the child. Shook her and thereafter lightly smacked her and shoved her into the next seat and buckled her. She told the mum that we are landing and this was not allowed. These are rules. She then stormed off. When I travel with family, I know better than to take children on Safair. I understand rules and safety however, the “in charge” hostess was more like ****** than a hostess. She needs to apologize to the family for the way she man- handled the baby. She definitely needs retraining in how to work through challenging scenarios. During this time, she should be demoted from her position as “hostess”
