Unfair practice of luggage policy based on race
I had a handbag, laptop bag, a vanity case and a small underseat carrier for hand luggage. I understand that this is 4 pieces. However, my underseat carrier is so small that the height of the vanity and carrier when strapped together is the size of normal check-in luggage. It's also ridiculous that females are allowed only a handbag or laptop as working females will have both. I was told at the check in counter that I need to combine two of my bags bc I am only allowed two in the plane and need to check in my carrier. I complied. However, I am clearly aware that others are allowed a laptop, handbag, carry on plus a vanity bag strapped onto their carry on. I also spotted multiple females carrying these onto flights the day of my flight, being today.
Why was I not granted the same courtesy and forced to pay? I also observed I was the only Indian forced to follow the rules. Which leads me to believe the company and specifically the check in counter staff are ****** and enforce rules to non-black customers. Not impressed. This airline also broke into my luggage and claimed the third party service is responsible and they cannot do anything as there are no cameras to protect themselves. Zero compensation was made. Finding loopholes in the policies indicates the lack of ethic and moral responsibility of the airline. FlySafair is ****** and ethically *******.
