********* Pricing system
I was busy finalizing my payment via credit card for my return flight from CPT to JHB. The price advertised online was R999 for the Lite option. When clicking to confirm the payment a notice popped up to say that this flight is no longer available, I went back to the flight and it was still there, same flight number same times - just that the price had now changed to R1099.
How in checkout/payment process does a price simply change?
I called the contact center as was told that this is how their system works, once they have sold a certain amount of seats then the system applies an increase to the fare. I fully understand how airlines can be money hungry and change prices of flights, however what I find completely ********* and just plain dirty tactics is to change prices once flights are already chosen and I am completing my credit card details.
When the consumer chooses a loaf of bread in the supermarket, they dont expect the price the increase to R17 by the time they get to the till? Why should it be ok for airlines to do this?
Sadly I had already have another flight booked with Safair, based on ethics and principle I refuse to ever book flights on this airline again.
