Taken advantage of by flysafair due to unforseen covid19, terrible airline business

I booked a flight for my mother to allow her to attend my graduations. As per the presidents speech the graduations have been canceled and I therefore have to cancel the flight. I am not allowed to get my money back without loosing half of it. When I try and reschedule the flight for her for December or January the prices are so inflated that I need to pay in more money. The prices intact everyday from November to next year March is the same price every single day, how is this possible. The airline is taking advantage of people and *****ing from us!!! Please give me my full money back or allow me to book a flight without having inflated prices!!!!!!!!!
