SAA
A weekend that was well planned and paid for weeks in at advance turned out to be a weekend full of disaster due to these following airlines. On Sat 27th Oct my flight to Mthata ( with SAAirLink) was cancelled due to the Mthata staff going on an impromptu strike. I was scheduled for a fly to Mthatha at 06h15 only to be told - after I had checked in and received my boarding pass - that the flight had been cancelled. No prior notice (sms, email, or call) was communicated. 11 passengers (incl myself) were left stranded and told to basically make other alternate arrangement. Apparently no fire Marshalls were on duty so the staff decided on Sat morning not to report for duty. I had to fligh JHB to Dur (SAA) and Dur to EL (FlySafair) and drive another 3.5 hrs to get to Cala. Now this moring 28th Oct at EL airport, returning back to Joburg, we were informed yet again (after we had boarded the gates) we were told to go back into the airport to receive an "announcement" - which was that our flight is delayed and will be departing at 4h30pm. Our flight was for 1h15pm flight (FlySafair). What is up with these airlines? Just PATHETIC service and a whole lot of time wasting.
