RUDE, IMPOLITE AND DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR
RUDE, IMPOLITE AND DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR
Four of my family members and myself booked flights to travel from Lanseria to Durban on Saturday morning and return on Saturday afternoon. The flight to Durban was pleasant. But coming back, you consultant at the check-in counter was rude, unfriendly and arrogant. My brother asked the lady at the counter that it will be nice if she greeted, smiled and spoke politely.
Her response was, well I just logged on in a rude abrupt tone. My brother asked for her name, she waves her name tag to us and says her name is Jean Chiwara, you can log a complaint if you want.
We went to a funeral in Durban on 17 Jan 2026, and for most of us it was our first time flying and we chose to fly with FlySafair. We asked Jean if we can be seated together. She allocated middle seats and the 5 of us were seated throghout the plane. My mum being 71years old was nervous about not sitting next to us. My brother is afraid of heights and his 1st time flying. He sat toward the back of the plane without his wife next to him. Things like this causes anxiety. Jean did not care about how she made us feel.
Jean allocated a seat to my sister-in-law in the immergency exit row. This was also her 1st time flying. Jean then asked my sister in law will she be comfortable to assist in a case of emergency if not she can allocate her another seat. Because of Jeans rudeness my sister in law said it was fine. When we boarded the plane we released that if Jean could reallocate a seat to my sister in law, then she could have allocated seats to us where we are seated next to each other. All I can think of is that Jean was being spiteful.
We never expected such poor service from the staff of FlySafair. I am highly disappointed. It was supposed to have a pleasant experience because any people recommended FlySafair and we were sacred to fly being our time flying for some of us in my family.
