Rude and unnecessary

***91 JHB to CPT, 2 Feb’26. Very Rude staff member at the gate forcing check in of hand luggage and claiming that the overhead baggage is full! No announcement or warning ahead of time at boarding gate that this will happen (like airlines do in the US). a total waste of time to slow down the boarding process as clearly the overheads still had A LOT of room! For an airline with claims of “always on time”, perhaps those responsible for customer service needs to revisit the boarding process and train staff on when its actually necessary for interventions to Force passengers to check in hand luggage at the door of the plane! Many passengers on the flight complaining about this on our flight!
