Requirements are not clearly on booking on line

The 14h November 2016(7h33), I (Rina) made a online booking for my dad at FlySafair departure Lanseria Saturday 26 11 2016 @ 8h30. Flight number FA315, Reservation code ENYBA4.

First time Imbooked a flight ticket and at the info requirement they don't make it CLEAR that only your birth names, as per the South African Identity document, must be on the booking. Therefore I booked my dad on him nick name.

I phoned the number at the bottom of page - ***@ 15h58. I spoke to a gentleman from Chubb Insurance SA Limited to change my dad's name to his birth names after my dad informed me it needs to change and he told me that they are only the Insurers but he will put me through to FlySafair. And so he did and I spoke to another gentleman, if I'm correct it was a Julian, he asked me if it was only the name that need to change and I said yes he confirmed that if it was only the name NO extra charges will be charge but if the changes was on the booking, time/day there will be a fee charge.

14 11 2016 @ 16h00 I phoned FlySafair and spoke to a lady could not remember her name due to the fact that I needed to spoke to several people just for a name change I was so frustrated and a hold on just for someone to assist.

Important Planning Information also does not state or make it clear that birth names need to be added when any bookings are booked. Nor point 2 neither point 9 indicate that birth names need to be on booking.

It was humiliating to be in front at the desk and to be send back to customer service/ reservation s to change the name at a fee of R300. This was not the first time this happens to people that made the reservation on their nick names instead of birth names.

For me as a person / customer this is unexceptionable to be informed there will be no charges just for a NAME CHANGE!! only on the reservation on dates and time.

It is utmost important that all staff members must know what is going on in the company policies and procedures, this is misleading for a customer which end up with an unhappy customer instead of a happy customer and word of mouth can either make or brake a business.
