******, lying and unprofessional Flysafair staff at East London Airport
I was supposed to board my flight at East London airport on the 11 March 2019 but the flight was cancelled due to bad weather. I then received a booking for a flight for the following day, 12 march 2019. On the 12 march 2019, upon arriving at the airport we stood in line waiting for assistance. Two people were being helped in front of us on two desks. There were three attendants seated but only two were assisting. A few more staff members were standing around whilst there were counters open. We waited a few minutes and suddenly heard one of the customers at the counter getting upset about not being allowed to check in. she went on to state that the check in time passed whilst she was standing in front of the attendant. Mind you whilst all this is happening the second customer which is a white gentleman is NOT being told that he wont be checked in. In fact he is getting assisted. we continued to stand in line waiting to hear what was going on. after about another minute we were told that the check in time has passed and therefore cannot be assisted. we were surprised and upset by this and asked how when we are here and are waiting for assistance. The lady who was delivering the news to us was highly unprofessional and told us about the check in times then proceeded to wave us off telling us to go to the ticket counter. When we left the check in counter the second lady was not checked in yet, meaning she was checked in after we were told to go away. upon arriving at the ticket counter we waited again as only two counters were open again even though staff members were standing around and there was a third counter vacant. Once we were helped we were informed of the same thing which turned into a back and forth and I proceeded to ask for the manager. The lady which we were being refereed to simply said she is off to the gate and we should be directed to someone else. whilst all of this is happening, people are still waiting in line to go through the gates and board the aircraft yet we were still being denied, in fact the lady which we were being refereed to stated that she is going to the gate, meaning they were not opened yet and we had already been arguing with various people for a good 5 minutes . We were refereed to a Athi who was supposed to be the manager. He is by far the most unprofessional manager and staff member of Flysafair I have ever encountered. We relayed the situation to him and he said he would go and ask the time of our arrival at the check in office. He returned telling us we arrived late according to the attendants. in the he said-she said moment the manager had no other leadership s**** to make use of in order for the matter to be resolved before the aircraft takes off. in fact he had an argument match with me as he was so determined to "set me straight" when I was questioning the airlines inability to accommodate clients whilst we had been understanding the previous day when our flight was delayed. When I questioned why only Flysafair was the only airline to cancel flights because of bad weather he informed me in a rather nonchalant manner that I should find that out myself. He continued to dismiss me by saying "yes, the weather only affected flysafair". This is when I questioned his qualification as a manager as he was carrying himself as though he is doing us a favour instead of him simply doing his job. His professionalism escalated to a point where he said he will add my name to the problematic client list. This is simply because I didn't back down when he was trying to establish his non existent authority over me. To finish off his unprofessional behaviour he instructed me on how to speak to him.
Yersteday I just spoke to Jenny from the call center and she read the notes under my reference and the same Athi noted "clients arrived late 13:35" which by the way he is not even aware if that is the truth or not. He goes on to say client questioned his qualification for the job not mentioning his fowl mouth and his words which resulted in me questioning how qualified he is.
I need someone he is his superior to contact me and for this matter to be resolved. I am still waiting for the surveillance footage which he was to request yesterday in order to determine what time I arrived at the airport and even if it happened that I arrived a minute after 13:30, why is it that the two clients before me were helped firstly without the white man being given a hassle and secondly why the black lady who was upset was assisted after we were told to go to the ticket office because clearly according to your staff she was assisted after 13:35 if they claim that we we arrived at 13:35.
