Racial Profiling by the Airline
To whom it may concern,
I Booked a 6.20 Flight for my grany returning to Johannesburg (Lanseria airport ) from Cape town tiket "REF FT6U3F", i have also booked assistance to accompany her since she's an elderly of 88yrs.
Before 5:30 i was at the airport i quickly went to to the point dest to borrow the wheelchair so that i can drop her at the checking point, I Spoke to the Lady called Deej/Deez, she responded to me stating that "their Wheelchair service start at the checking point i have to carry her up to them in order to provide a wheelchair ", without a question i returned to the car but at the time i found it odd that they simply could not borrow me the wheelchair to just pick her up from the drop off zone to the checking point, She Used the same Airline from Lanseria to Cape Town and she was assisted with a wheelchair.
As i went out i sow a Gentleman(White Guy) parking next to my car pushing a wheelchair then i ask him where did he get it im also looking for one, the gentleman simply said to me "Noo i got it from the point desk, i borrowed this one from Flysafair because im flying with them.." i responded to the Gentleman stating that the passenger im requesting for is also flying with them but i did not get it, the gentleman responded "well i dont know but i borrowed this from them.." i went back to them thinking maybe she didn't understand what i was aking for, time was now 5:45 to be precise, i went to the same Lady and she gave me the same answer , the gentleman with the wheelchair was approching then i ask her how does this gentleman pushing the lady able to get one if you not providing, she couldn't not answer then she refers me to the supervisor "Suran".
I explained the situation to him, he gave me the same Answers , then i asked him how about this Gentleman approaching the the till point how did he get hold of one if you not providing, then he changes the story and say we do provide but now we dont have any available, i asked him how many wheelchair do you have in total, then he responded saying they have +25 of them, i asked the gentleman this is the first morning flight what you are telling me is that the was more than 25 disabled this morning... he didn't answer but he referred to the airport desk to borrow from them..i went to them and they say they don't provide wheelchair to the travellers "the airline you booked with should provide you with one".., the gentleman state
I had to carry her and support her move and bring ther to the the checking point with a help of yonger brother, on arival they provided me with a wheelchair, it was now 5min to six , when they about to check in the bags they say they cannot check in the bagss because is too late, i sugested they take the passengers because they were already checked in they refused still,
In results had to make another payment to put them on standby and i was very sad to leave them at the Airport lonely corridors as i had to go back to work.
I felt racially profiled that i was dinied simple service in that maner , that also coasted me in results and willing to exercise every right for suffering this injustice and trauma i had to leave the grany at because she could see what was happening.
In case the Airline choses site protecting the ****** i have experienced.. *Can the Airline prove that all wheelchair were in used during that very first morning flight , that all 25 of their first morning passagers required assistance, surely that data can be proven and be made available..?
* are the rule different from Lanseria where she have received assistance she required on the 11th of October by the same Airline.
*are there any preferred customer chosen to enjoy the full service of thier chosen airlines and some not at the Cape Town International Airport ... ?
* All i needed was a wheelchair to bring their customer i book to the checkpoint not a for the Airline stuff to go pick her up at the parking...
* I Have deliberately made to miss the flight in a purpose of gaining more profits..the bonned lady also working at the exchange tickets also very very rude and not sympathetic.
Kind regards Abel
