R199.00 ticket cost me almost R10 000.

<p>I purchased a ticket for my 20 year old Son to fly to JHB - OR TAMBO where he was to catch a connectig flight at 11am on SAUDIA. to meet us in SAUDI ARABIA. Due to Matric exams, he was unable to fly with us about four days earlier. The SAFAIR Flight was for 8.15am which would have left him with enough time to land, grab his luggage and have breakfast and get to international terminal. </p> <p>For some reason the flight was delayed and passangers were told 15min delay. Ultimately without notice 15 miinutes finally saw the flight leave at 9.40am. Thats a DELAY of 1 HOUR 20 MINUTES. After explaining his situation to the SAFAIR team at King Shaka Airport a few times in Durban , it made absolutely no difference in their manner of managing the situation and advising the passangers who had meetings or connecting flights to sought alternative flights and SAFAIR will either refund those or do what a respectable and professional business would do. </p> <p>I called SAFAIR four times from SAUDI ARABIA and specifically asked not to be put on hold as it was an international call and airtime was at a premium, that did not matter. </p> <p>He missed his flight, SAFAIR took no reponsibility for it, neither did they have the courtesy to fly him back to Durban at their cost. </p> <p>i had to purcchase a ticket at R1400 on another airline and fly him back to durban eventually at 9pm.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
