R11 Sale - ****med to pay Full Price

Based on your public advertising, I understood that tickets were being sold at this promotional price. R11 However, upon being selected and then choosing my flight and proceeding through the booking process, I was charged the full standard fare. I later discovered that the “Standard” fare had been preselected by default, rather than giving me a fair and clear opportunity to choose the advertised R11 fare. I was not made aware of any clear notice or instruction that I needed to manually deselect or opt out of the more expensive fare option. This practice appears to be: • Misleading advertising, in violation of Section 29 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA); • A potential bait-and-switch strategy, where a low fare is advertised but not reasonably available/ instructed to choose that option • And an unfair default selection, which could be seen as deceptive or coercive. When contacting your team, they were rude and unhelpful and blamed me.
