Poor service on Flysafair not worth the risks of flying with them

On 15 Dec, we flew from CT to East London on flight FA142. We were scheduled to leave at 12h50, but the flight eventually left at 16h30.

Around 12h30, we overheard some Mango pilots saying that there was a fuel shortage, which we understand is responsible for part of the delay. However, by about 14h30, flights later than ours were taking off, and by 15h30, we were the only flight on the notice board that was still delayed.

The delay is one thing, but the complete lack of communication, and provision of incorrect information, from FlySafair is another. Every piece of information that we received about the delay, we got by word of mouth or by trying to speak to staff. Someone we were sitting next to, got an SMS at about 15h15 that the flight was rescheduled to 16h00, but we received nothing at all. When we spoke to staff at the gate, they were not well-informed, nor did they offer to get hold of better information. For about 2 hours, the notice board indicated that our flight was delayed, with a revised estimated departure time of 2pm, and this continued to display even until 3pm!

No water or food vouchers were provided, and there was chaos in the boarding lounge. After all this they still charged us for water on the flight! Seriously.

This is the poorest experience of flying that I have ever had. In a competitive industry, where providers rely on good service to differentiate themselves, FlySafair has failed miserably.
