paying for incorrect name

we booked tickets for a familt of 8 we paid 25000.00 for the ticket at pick and pay as we booked it online. it is our first time for flying and when collecting the tickets at the sales counter at o.r tambo we queried the names after the said we must pay R200.00 per person for the change of name. we have the proof of purchase for the ticket and 5 people were on tickets as we call them for ex eddie for Edward. and we had a argument regarding this as we did not know it would matter. it is our first time... we did this and we did not know it would be such an issue now it is a R1000.00 more and the lady who assisted us had a bad attitude how can you pay this much for an honest mistake
