PATHETIC SERVICE

I was on time to board as per my app , when I got to the desk before passing the person assisting said I need to leave my luggage behind or book a new flight, I left all my luggage behind as I was getting on the flight they were accepting unchecked baggage and providing stickers, I even checked with a passenger and that was true. WHY WAS THIS OPTION NOT GIVEN TO ME ?? How is it so easy to "just book another flight" on NYE . I am back at home with my luggage in a different province!!! How is this even right ? Why were these people working if they were not in the mood to do their jobs or help ??
