Pathetic Attitude of your flight attendants

My two children and I were on the 05h55 flight from Jhb to Cape Town on Sunday 5 November 2017, which departed approximately 20 minutes late. Our bookings only made provision for hand luggage. All three of us had a small bag, small enough to go through as hand luggage, and it didn't weigh more than 4kg each. As we entered the plane, the attendants at the door forced all three of us to leave our hand luggage with them. I told the lady that on our flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg we had the exact same hand luggage, and there was no problem taking it with us and store it in the overhead compartments. I also told the lady we cannot leave it with them to store with the other luggage, as the bags are not locked, and they don't take any responsibility for lost items. With a terrible attitude, she just told me I do not have any choice, and we must leave our bags with them. As I went to my seat I realized my purse is still in my bag, and because it is the 05h55 flight, I would want to buy food for me and my children during the flight. I asked her if I can just get my bag for one minute to get my money out of it to buy food during the flight. After a few minutes she came back and said they can't find my bag. I told her that I was very upset because all the other passengers were allowed to have their hand luggage with them, but we were forced to give in our hand luggage. She immediately changed her story and said nobody forced us to give in our bags, and it was my own choice to give in our bags. Another attendant came to me and said the Captain offered to buy us food. After the plane departed and they started to sell food, the flight attendant came to me with ONE sandwich and ONE coffee, although they are well aware of the fact that it was me AND my two children. I asked him who is supposed to have the food. Really?? Your attitude suck! I will never make use of Safair ever again!
