Overbooking nightmare and failed priority boarding experience
Flight ***79 on 27 September 2024 was a disaster. Despite booking seat A9 and paying R100 for priority boarding, I was de-seated "by thre system" and forced to board last. I arrived early, only to be told the flight was full, and I'd be put on standby for the next flight as the system has deseated me and alocated my seat to another passanger.
Fortunately, I got on the flight after everyone boarded, likely due to a no-show. However, the experience was stressful and inconvenient.
FlySafair's priority boarding failed me, and I struggled to find space for my carry-on luggage.
I was told that I would have to be put on the next flight at arounf 10pm, if there was no seat for me, and if so I would have received R1000 compensation, but this doesn't rectify the issue. I had already made travel arrangements at a specific time in Johannesburg (destination)
I demand a refund of the priority boarding fee or compensation for the inconvenience caused (booking reference OJZ964).
FlySafair's overbooking policy seems flawed, leaving passengers vulnerable to similar experiences.
