Not happy at all

Why poeple is like this? I bought a ticket from them and never got on plane because off issues at airport and end of the day did not let me get on the plane so they ask me do i wanna change my flight date and i said no i want a refund cause im not longer in that city i came with other transport so they refuse to give me back my money is that right i paid for service never used the service because of they issues but also dont want to refund me is that fair?
