Nasty attitude
This morning my cousin and I had our flights booked with FlySafair for 7:10 from OR Tambo to East London. We didn't print our boarding passes as we had ran out of time to. When we got to the luggage drop counter, we were sent to the counter that is on the side for printing the boarding passes. The lady at the counter sent us to the sales counter and told us not to queue because our flight was soon to close. We did as we were told and stood at the side of the counter where there was a lady who was told us she was busy to attend us, while she was not attending to anyone. I tried to explain how this was an emergency but she refused to help us. We waited there as we were running late. What was funny, after she refused helping us print the passes she took someone from the queue, I don’t know whether he was helped because of the race he was (N.B. This matter is not based on race). The lady who next to her later attended us and she told us printing the passes will take a while, I still don’t understand what was so hard to print them that it would take a while ?. While she was going on about how we are making her work hard I found an email that was from FlySafair in my inbox, I just asked her to give me my ID back so I could leave; by this time my cousin was told she was not going to leave with the flight because of her luggage. Twenty five minutes of my time was just wasted like that. I ran to the gates and when I got there I was told the flight was closed and it was 6:50am. I asked the guys where at the gate is the gates don’t closed 15 minuets before the departure and no one was willing to listen to me, all I was told is to go back to the sales counter. When I got to the counter the only person who was there was the lady who refused to help us and made me wait when there was no one else in the queue way but me. Eventually she called me and I explain how I missed the flight and she said the only flight she can organize is the next morning but it’s full. I was told to pay R300 to upgrade the ticket and come at 5am to be on standby or pay R1900 to get a secure seat in the plane. My question was, where are they going to get the seat if I pay the R1900. To me, this all sounded like gambling. And she fused to explain. I payed R300 option as I don’t have R1900. In my life I’ve never experienced such nasty service where everyone I was talking to refused to give me what I deserved. I’d like to believe I’m not a difficult person but the attitude I was given this morning very bad and nasty. And obviously don’t think I’ll be able travel with you as this costed me a lot, not to mention the unexpected payments I had to do including the Gautrain expenses going back to Sandton and the ones I’m still have to make tomorrow. I’ve never been this hurt by your service. I don’t know what I would’ve gone to if I didn’t have family in Johannesburg.
