Money hounds could not care less about their passengers.

On Saturday 12 November, my son was due to fly from Cape Town to PE at 4:55pm on Safair. We arrived at the airport around 3:30pm and made our way to the check-in counters. He had checked in online already so only had to drop his bag. The queues at both the check-in and bag drop counters had 60 to 80 people in them each and both were moving extremely slowly and roughly the same speed (what is the benefit of "bag drop" when you need to queue?!) At 4:10pm saw that the queue was moving far too slowly and so approached one of the Safair staff who was speaking to another customer. We asked him if there was a way that we could move to the front as my son will be taking off at 4:55pm. The staff member told us that the checkin was closed!!! and that we should make our way to the ticket counter to book another flight. I told them that we had been waiting for over 30 minutes in the queue and that he had checked-in and all he had to do was drop his bag. He said that he could not help us and that we would need to book another flight. I approached another staff member at the front of the queue at the bag drop counter and got the same SHOCKING!! response. I told my son to go through the gates and that I would courier his suitcase to him. The staff are clueless and the policies of this airline are evidently solely made to take your money and they could not care less about their passengers. I would question to what extent their safety policies are made in the same way. Unfortunately, I cant give them a zero star rating as 1 star is too generous.
