Missing our flight with Smug Smirk and Attitudes!!

Myself and a friend checked in at the Safair counter at OR Tambo (10/09/15) excited to fly to George and then to walk the Otter Trail in Natures Valley. The ticket said gate opens at 13:30 and flight departs at 14:05. Since we had ample time we went through security and sat at a restaurant. As boarding time approached we asked for the bill - which took a while longer than anticipated. At 13:50 we arrived at the boarding gate (on time) and the staff said that we missed our flight? We asked why no one called us on the intercom and why a flight would leave early without all it's passengers?? and what we could do since we HAD TO get to George in order to walk the trail. The staff merely smirked and said, sorry you have missed your flight. I was so upset and asked them if they can just phone the plane or assist us? They LAUGHED at us. The supervisor approached and with a smug smile confirmed that we missed it and did not attempt to help us any further. We ran back out, got a ticket from Kulula.They assisted us promptly and we made a flight that was leaving within 5min. Amazing service from Kulula!! I cannot say anything good about Safair and I'm truly disappointed.
