ILL TREATMENT OF A WHEELCHAIR PASSENGER
I booked return flights from Cape Town to East London. Reservation number 1EKYAI. Our return flight was this afternoon. My husband had a wheelchair reservation. When we arrived in Cape Town, the wheelchair small chair was used to get him off the stairs of the plane. No ramp but staircase. He was bumped down the stairs after everyone has exited the flight. In East London a ramp was used and here in Cape Town they asked him to hold on to rails as they pulled him down the stairs.
Once he was on the ground, he was stranded with no wheelchair after 18H00. I contacted your 087 numbers only to be given all other options except one for complaints.
I ended up calling ACSA who referred me to the information desk and I was then referred to FLYSAFAIR desk. Only to be met by an arrogant supervisor DeWen, who was never usefull but tell me that MENZIES had no vehicle to be used for my husband. What am my to do with MENZIES when I needed a service from FLYSAFAIR?
Meanwhile my husband was put into and kept there for about an hour as there were no wheelchairs.
My husband has had four Spine operation hence is in a wheelchair. With the latest operation done last December. His hands cannot hold anything tight. He is in chronic pain with specialists in Vincent Palloti Life hospital ( if you need to confirm why my hubby is in a wheelchair) had to be bumped down the stairs with a small four wheeled slim chair.
Extremely disappointed is an understatement for someone who is ill and in chronic pain. We opt for flying because it is quicker and easier for his condition.
