If you want the seat of your choice but dont want to pay for it. Read to the end

So about a month ago, I flew to Cape Town from Lanseria.

I checked in online and got to the airport, as soon as we started boarding and I got to the gate I was stopped by FlySafair personnel, and told that the seat I picked (extra legroom) was reassigned to a gentleman who is travelling with family. I had my second back operation a few months ago and also not the shortest of people, so this got me upset already.

I got on the plane and the "gentleman" travelling with family had taken my seat just to get a window seat in the extra leg room section. The people he was travelling with were 2 rows behind him as they were basically yelling at each other now and then to talk.

So IF you want to get the seat of your choice without paying that extra bit of cash, just inconvenience other people by telling the check-in person that you want to sit next to family even if there isn't a family member on the flight. They are more then willing to shift other people with medical conditions to accommodate you without telling you till its boarding time.
