IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS, DO NOT EVER USE SAFAIR NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU MIGHT BE. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU NOR YOUR BELONGINGS; THEY HIDE BEHIND THEIR POLICIES. Upon receiving my checked bag, I noticed that it had been damaged; one of the suitcase wheels was completely missing, leaving me with only three wheels instead of four. I visited the baggage claims counter, and they provided me with this email address for further assistance. I sent the email, and they responded by saying that, in accordance with their terms and conditions, unfortunately, they are not liable for damages. I travel frequently for work, and during my trip to Durban last week, my new suitcase already had scratches all over it. Now, upon returning to Cape Town, I find that the wheel is entirely gone.

While Safair's policy may state that they are not liable for damages to protruding parts, such as wheels and handles, which are, by the way, part of the bag, that still does not give them the right to mishandle our luggage. Just because you are not held responsible, it doesn’t mean you should treat people's belongings carelessly. How is it that a new bag (purchased less than six months ago) became completely unusable after being handled by them, when it remained intact during other flights? This level of disrespect and disregard for people's property is very alarming.
