Forced to buy a new ticket after gate number was changed

I had a ticket to Cape Town from Johannesburg, and my ticket indicated a gate number.

While I was at the airport, the gate number changed, I was not aware, and suddenly realized that I missed my flight.

The airline refused to take accountability and made me pay for a brand-new ticket.
