FlySafair Red Card
FlySafair's lack of service as an organisation has proven so unbearable that it prompted this review. After receiving a text message from them advising me that my 19:15 flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town would be delayed by over 3 hours and would now only depart at 22:40, I decided to contact them to determine the cause and possible solutions to remedy the situation. Needless to say, there were no viable solutions that they could provide as they informed that I would need to pay a flight change penalty fee of approximately R700 to get onto a 17:30 flight or alternatively pay a flight change penalty fee of R200 to get onto a 20:15 flight. When I asked the agent (Vangile Manana) that I was speaking to as to why they would expect me to incur additional costs and not just waiver the fee, she advised me that it is policy and there is nothing she could do about it. Post the fruitless discussion, I spoke to her Team Leader/Manager (Thuli Mthimoni) and that discussion did not yield any joy because in gist she informed me that her Head of Customer Service was failing to provide solutions to my complaint as a paying customer; despite the fact that they as an organisation caused this disruption. In conclusion, this incident is valid for me to determine that FlySafair is an unprofessional organisation, with *********** management, illogical policies and ********* business practices and the behaviour that they have displayed along with the experience that I have encountered today is tantamount to Andrea Lovotti's red card incident in the match against the Springboks.
