FlySaFair / Pandemic cancelled events still require you to pay for your flights
I booked a return flight from PE in Nov 2020 for Dec 2020. During which time Lock down was implemented and the event was cancelled. When I contacted them to request cancellation or even a voucher, I was told to pay R300 (x2) in order to change the booking, a voucher was NOT an option. Mango airlines, whom I also had a booking with which would've taken me to PE, gave me a voucher for 2 years without even a hesitation. Needless to say, with FlySafair I did not have the funds and with plenty of dead end arguing borrowed R600 to not lose the whole amount I had already paid.
I was told to pick a new date, of which I had no idea what it was going to be so chose middle of March 2021 due to begging the event organizers for a new date and to move on from this moment, they said it's impossible to give a date, but maybe March 2021. Now March 2021 is here and I have no reason to use the tickets right now. Once again I call FlySafair only to now be told, oh yes sure we're allowing vouchers now... BUT... you will need to pay R600 for the voucher or move your booking to another date???
I DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER DATE. I do not even have an extra R600 to buy a voucher on top of the money I've already paid. So I told Thuli Ithole the supervisor to go ahead and pick any date for me, I mean what difference is it going to make in my life right now. At least I don't have to fork out another R600 TODAY. The most unhelpful and ridiculous rules and regulations during a Pandemic that I PERSONALLY have no control over yet physically need to pay for.
Go for Mango Airlines, at least they understand what we're all going through right now and it is amazing to work with them
