Can you believe it... SAFAIR sell insurance for your flights, they advertise that all costs will be covered... simple no questions asked. I purchased two tickets to JHB return to CTN with insurance, the event that I was attending cancelled - absolutely no coincidence, none to the Coronavirus. I attempted (honestly) to claim my flights as was directed to CHUBB Insurance who obviously underwrites the insurance for SAFAIR. Upon submitting the claim I received a question back from CHUBB Insurance "reason for cancellation" I responded my event was cancelled. No sooner I receive an almost automated response.

CHUBB / SAFAIR - shame on you. You looking for any link to the Pandemic to disqualify any honest claim. It shows the desperation of the airline and the downright despicable actions of insurers. No wonder nobody trusts Insurer's any more.

May we respectfully refer you to the policy wording: “General Exclusions The following General Exclusions are applicable to the Policy as a whole. We shall not be liable for payment of any loss, claim, indemnity or benefit amount due to: 7. Any epidemic and pandemic events.”
