FLY SA FAIR NOT FLYING FAIR
Based on an announcement by the president last night on covid related restrictions ,Wits has released a statement to cancel face to face graduations that my parents were flying to attend .
I called fly safair this morning to enquire on what action they would take concerning the ticket booked and the feedback was that they are operating as per normal and won’t be issuing vouchers . They advised we need to pay R350 cancellation fee per person and move the tickets to later, which is not a suitable option as the inconvenience is as a result of covid 19 developments . Surely this is not fair to us your clients nor is it compliant with the disaster management act requirements.
This email is to table a complaint about your decision to proceed as per normal with regards to flight cancellations when the cause of the event cancellation is based on the president’s announcement last night concerning covid restrictions on public gatherings . Remember we are in level 1 and when we booked the ticket ,gatherings for graduations were permitted provided that the venue is at 50% capacity but last night the president announced that indoor gathering should not exceed 100 going forward , this then has overridden the 50% capacity indoor rule that we considered when we booked the tickets to travel for the graduation. Please may you assist with a resolution to this complaint .
